Cancel on dropbox.com under Manage account. You drop to the free 2 GB plan at the end of the billing cycle.

Menu pathdropbox.com > avatar (bottom left) > Manage account > Cancel plan

Steps

  1. Log in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click your avatar (picture or initials) in the bottom-left corner.
  3. Click Manage account.
  4. Click Cancel plan at the bottom of the page.
  5. Pick a reason, click Continue canceling, and follow the prompts.
  6. Look for the email "Dropbox Plan will not renew".

Refunds, timing and things to know

  • Your account changes to free Dropbox Basic at the end of your current billing cycle and you are not charged again. Basic has 2 GB. If you are over the limit you may not be able to sync or upload, and Dropbox may delete files to get under it.
  • Deleting the app or letting your card expire does not cancel. Your bank may pass the charge to a new card.
  • Refunds: Dropbox says payments are not refundable in most cases. If you think there is a billing error, contact Dropbox support.
  • Can't cancel online? Dropbox accepts cancellation by mail; its help page has a template.

If someone else bills you

  • No Cancel plan button? You probably bought on a phone. Cancel in the Apple or Google Play app store.

Save proof. Take a screenshot of the confirmation screen and keep the confirmation email. If you are charged again after canceling, our billing error letter can help.
